Who can participate: any sister interested in the practice of Ananda Marga meditation

Ananda Dhiira Master Unit is located in Penn Valley, CA at 19393 Sanctuary Road. It’s a beautiful meditation center (Ashram) with 20 acres of land and access to the nearby South Yuba river. To reach Ananda Dhiira there is no direct public transportation. The closest airport is Sacramento (1 hour and 15 minutes’ drive away) and the closest train station is Auburn (45 minutes’ drive away).
Accommodations include a bed, nourishing meals, and full access to our grounds and retreat center amenities. If the weather allows it, there are tents available as well.
WHAT TO BRING:
• In the ashram you’ll be asked to remove your shoes, so please bring extra socks or indoor slippers
• A yoga mat if you want to use your own
• Insect repellent (organic preferable)
• A journal and pen
• A water bottle to avoid spills of water on the carpet
A headband or similar accessory to keep your hair away from your face during a face detox or mud pack
Towel, Toiletries, hat, walking shoes, swimming suits, sunscreen (sun protection), personal needs, comfortable clothing for yoga. Bedsheets and towels are provided.
Please refrain from using artificial fragrances (aritifical perfumes, colognes, shampoo, deodorant, etc) during your stay at our Ashram,
to ensure a comfortable and inclusive environment for all.
How To Get There (Flights, Airport Transfers, Buses, Trains)
Sacramento International Airport (SFM) is the nearest airport, 45 miles from Ananda Dhiira. You can take Uber from there to Ananda Dhiira or rent a car.
If you arrive at SJC, OAK, or SFO airports, you can get an AMTRAK train to Auburn station, and from there, there is a shuttle to Grass Valley and another shuttle to Penn Valley. We can pick you up from Penn Valley at no additional cost.
Please note it is not easy to get public transportation (shuttle or Uber) in the evening from Auburn station. It is better to arrive during the day.
We will also try to arrange a ride-share with other participants when possible, so please let us know your travel plans in advance.

As soon as you reach the address you will see the billboard of the South Yuba River. Next to it there is a blue sign with the name of Ananda Dhiira. Please contact the organizers to get the code to the gate to the private road leading up to Ananda Dhiira. After you enter the gated road, continue up the gravel road and take the second right to the main building of Ananda Dhiira. Please park on the back, closer to the garage.
If you need a ride to and from the airport or train station:
If you choose not to take an Uber or a rented car from Sacramento airport or from Auburn train station, we can pick you up (if arranged in advance and ahead of time of the starting of the retreat).
There will be an additional cost of $50 from/to Sacramento and $30 to/from Auburn.
Please plan your journey accordingly and aim to arrive at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time. If you encounter any unexpected delays or require assistance with directions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. By arriving early, you’ll have ample time to settle in, get familiar with the surroundings and make any necessary preparations before we begin our retreat activities. Thank you.
